I have this weird branching-looking sponge around my elegance. Does anyone know what this kind is? Elegance is not bothered by it so far, even though this sponge is big. Does any fish eat sponge, or should I just manually remove it?

Besides the above one, I also have many of these looking sponges in my tank:

I would also like to get rid of them if possible. Can any creature eat them?

The second pic is pineapple sponge. Harmless and usually fade away on their own. I would just manually remove the first if it's bothering you. Sponges in general are good as long as they arent fast growing where they smother things.

How can I make the pineapple sponge fade away? Some online posts say it's because of silicates in RO water or nutrients. Any other potential reasons that I should keep an eye on? I have a protein skimmer, so I wasn't really worried about excessive nutrients. I can also add macro algae if needed. But not sure about how to remove silicates.

Is tank newer? They just fade as tank matures normally. I would not spend any effort on them. Give it a month or two and I bet they're gone.

Yeah, i never had any but then i started using cleaned rainwater instead of rodi from my lfs and they just popped up everywhere.

This tank's been running for more than half of the year now. Also start to wonder if it could be my lfs rodi water is not filtered through enough stages, like the experience papercrab had about rainwater.
