Sponges

[Rick's Reefing Adventures]

Hey,
One of my torches has been growing great, and has split from 1 to 2 heads in a few weeks. Since a few days one of the heads has been opening less, and I can now see the skeleton (still a bit of flesh on it). The only thing I have noticed is this sponge growing on it. Could this be killing it? Or do sponges normally not do that?

Exposing to air and a peroxide dip didn’t help…

You can pull it out and scrape it off, it will come off easily. Sponges are harmless but could overgrow the torch.
