Can anyone identify?

Good, bad or indifferent in tank?

Should one try to get some?

Pineapple sponges will come and go. I wouldn't worry about adding them, they will just appear. Often in overflows, sump area, etc.

Now, If you wanted to add some of the pretty sponge specimens to showcase in your tank, then that's fine if you understand their requirements.
