spot lighting for clams using leds, anyone do this?

I am in a little predicament. I am planning on adding a maxima but from my par readings i dont believe its enough. i am currently running an ati powermodule 4x39 and getting around 100 at the bottom
didnt really want to put the clam up higher so i was thinking maybe i could do a little spot lighting with an led par38?
i remember a few years ago reading about how people in japan used little 35w mh spotlights to light certain acros with different spectrum bulbs to bring out their color
i was just wondering if anyone has done this with clams, since i am focusing on softies and a few lps lighting isnt a huge concern but with the clam im thinking i need to boost it up a little?

100 par sounds okay to me, but try it if you want, it wiil certainly work, and I have seen it done
