So I have had this spotted mandarin in qt (ttm) for 9 days already. He has been eating frozen brine shrimp since day 1. I have been trying to get him onto other foods by soaking them in brine shrimp juice and mixing them with brine shrimp pieces. He will try mysis and clams but he will spit them, if not all, most of the times. If he accidentally eats fish eggs or cyclops he will also spit them. He goes crazy for brine shrimp and won't consider anything else. Do you have any tricks in mind? For mysis and clams at least, i think that he can't eat the big pieces, he some times swallows the smaller ones.

With other fish, it’s just a matter of time, but with mandarins, it’s quite a case by case scenario, and often times just a swing in the dark. Many never take to frozen.

You already have it on frozen brine shrimp, I’d say that’s already way ahead of others.

Maybe try the smallest mysis you can find?

I have had success with mine on prime reef flake by ocean nutrition. Not saying it's a cure to your situation but may help you out.
