I got this from a Manhatten Reefer in a 5 SPS pack. It was sold to me as Purple Nana.

This is the same Coral after maybe 6 or 7 weeks under 2 Reeflux 12K 250 Watt MH and 4 54 Watt T5's:

This is another coral purchased from the same person on Manhatten Reef. This change is also amazing.

This one has gone from white with what was supposed to be blue tips to completely blue. It was sold to me as a blue aculeus.

Yeah. I bought them thinking they would stay the first color. In his for sale thread he posted pics of his colonys and they looked the same as when I got the frags so i didn't think they would change color at all. I feel like going back and emailing him these pictures but I don't want to rub it in.

Yeah the first one doesn't even look like a nana. The first pic it looks like a valida, but now I don't know.

thats pretty good, thats what they are supposed to look like. my guess is that they were VERY stressed out during shipping, or they were under a bad lighting combination in the previous owners tank (maybe something like T5's or XM10k's), or maybe bad water quality in the previous tank.

Thanks guys,

Fragjunkie- no secret ... just good lighting and keeping water stable.

Surfn- I'm with you ... I think the guy that had them before me just had bad lighting.

reef-lover- not sure it's a nana ... I think it maybe in the bonsai family.

On a side note the Purple SPS has redbugs ... I just got a 58 gallon tank that i'm gonna use as a frag/holding tank. I'm gonna remove it and treat it with interceptor.... I would treat my whole tank but I have too mank good bugs and snails/hermits that I don't want to lose.

we'll see what happens next week.

one thing, i tend not to cut frags from the top of colonies, but rather the bottom, so they haven't been getting as much light.
