Hello
I have a question regarding lighting and PAR readings and the effect on a few sps corals I have. For my setup I use an ATI 8 bulb 39w 36" unit over my 120 gal 48x24x24 tank. I also use 2 kessil 360WE's as complimentart lights pretty much for the actinics and the shimmer. I posted some pics to show how its set up
So the other day I noticed the back of one of my sps had what would look like if you burned the coral with a magnifying glass and the sun on the back of it thats directly facing the kessil. On the base and the other side of the coral the color looks amazing. So today I set up my Apex Par meter and Im getting about 265PAR where the coral is. I would think this SPS would have zero problems with this PAR reading and wondering if my Kessil is putting out more than Im reading. Also I only lose about 50-60 par when I turn the kessils off and just use the ati. I also provided a screenshot of my lightening schedule my kessil ramp is 0-15% intensity 0-50% color.
I recently bumped up intensity to 20% but cut color down to 30% thinking it was more of a white light issue as opposed to to much light
You can see here the back that looks burned
You can see here the angle of the Kessils. The sps in question is located in front of the monti growing on the back glass
