Hey reefers I have a question about sps coral placement. When u think u find a spot for a coral, how long do u leave it there to see if it likes the spot? What are you looking for that shows the coral is happy?
I know polyp extension is a sign but if it doesn't have any how many days do u wait until u move it to another spot?

That's a good question. Happy to the coral may not necessarily be happy to the reefer. Sometimes you can have two of the same coral in two different areas in the reef tank and may look in color and shape very different but both are very healthy. On a "stress" stand point The issue may be flow or a territorial issue. Sometimes light will play the roll in being the deciding factor sometimes it maybe all three. Yes polyp extension growth color and over all visual health of the tissue.Usually a week or so and maybe up to a couple months. Sometimes it's a very slow observation and sometimes it can be pretty quick.
