If you have the Red Sea peninsula 500 and thinking about ordering the Artfully acrylic lid, I’d suggest going custom (see above post) instead because there’s a huge gap under the overflow and I know livestock will eventually jump out.
Yep! So huge that even your big “Stealth” Tang can slip out for carpet surfing! ;)

No joke!! I had my LFS order me a pair of Hawaiian flame wrasse and they came in pretty and healthy but unfortunately I passed on them because of my lid. The tangs can’t get out, but smaller fish for sure!

That’s a disappointment for sure. Mine came as per yours, plus 5mm shorter on the width. I think they had resolved the width issue in your case. They should really update and cover overflow area as per your sketch, that’s what I had them do eventually.

The width was perfect; is your feed door flushed or is it raised a bit? Mine is definitely raised and kinda annoying

Now that you’ve pointed out... yes it’s the same. Guess it’s part of their design.
Not sure if it’s wrasse safe though, there’s a 5mm gap between the feed door and the tank brim. I’ll be parking my Flipper Max there if it does.

Where is the netting? Are you expected to install that yourself??
It came with the netting installed... but to the wrong dimensions plus the netting was damaged during transit; the adjusted pieces and new nettings were then provided accordingly for me to DIY. To be fair, they did offer for me to mail it back for them to redo, but it's too much hassle for me to have to lug the whole cover back to the post office.

I received the part I needed today for my artfully acrylic lid and it took me half an hour to switch it out. But they forgot to include a roller tool, luckily I have one laying around! My wife saw what I was doing and said they should offer partial refund! Artfully acrylic also sent me a different custom lid for a small tank, probably for a 25 lagoon that I did not order. I feel bad for the lid owner, now he/she has to wait even longer!

It’s quite easy to swap out. I had to order a splicing tool for the netting too. Glad that all that’s over for you! Cheers.

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas! Wow, I can’t believe it’s been two months since I updated my journal! So much has changed since my last update. I got rid of my gem tang, purple, and yellow tang because I wanted to add other types of fish, including anthias, wrasses, and angels!
I just hooked up my calcium reactor and transferred the acros that I want in the peninsula. I have about 5 more to add then I’m done adding corals. I’ve decided to make this tank SPS-ONLY!!! :D

Anyway, here are some pics! More pics coming soon :)

I got all of my parts to finish my manifold. I’ll be doing a leak test tomorrow.

Hello,
I really enjoy reading and following your build. I also have a Peninsula 500. Do you have a list of the parts that you used to build you manifold? i'm thinking of running a UV. Thank you

Thank you! If you tell me which UV you have, then I can help you put the parts together. Send me a message!

Any updates on this build!? Are you able to get enough flow in tank for SPS with pumps on the rear wall or have you had to add to the front?
