Just got this at my LFS as a no name frag on their rack it has nice big red polyps, they are a little retracted in these pics since I had just dipped it. I looked this morning and they are opened up again.

Hey Biggles. What are your top 3 favorite species of SPS and what is your bottom 2?

Hi mate, i would say echinata, milli's and any of the deilicate branching tables. I don't really like stags or any thick branching species even though there are some stunners commonly available.

How long has this been cooking?

I've only had the piece 2 months now i think but it's encrusting well and the colors are setting nicely so far. This is a piece i cut off and placed in a higher light spot back when i first got the branch. I always take at least one big frag off a new branch and give it more or less light than what i think will be best just in case the acro disagrees with my assessment. Pic taken today.

This is what the piece looked like after one week in my tank i think from memory. And yes, i stuck a hammer onto an acro - space is tight..........

So you can see how some of my pieces started out. The acro is still coloring up so it will probably be another month or two before the long term look is set in regards to pigments and where they show. It's already been named ' Flaming Galah ' by a good mate of mine lol.
