And for size comparison this piece is about the size of one of the large frag plugs. Also its been brown the entire time in my tank, ive had it for about 6 months, anyone know if the browning is too much to little light? Its up high right now, ive tried it everywhere and it just plain stays brown. The new growth is yellow the picture really shows the colors well. Only thing you cannot see if that the polys are a blue hue, not much, mostly brown but a slight blue tinge to it.

I bought an encrusting montipora similar to this about 8 months ago and it has only recently gotten a green color, and the purple growth ring back. hang in there

Looks like a Montipora to me. Possibly a M. Danae?

If it weren't for the "flatness" I'd almost wonder if it could be a yellow porites? I have a similar piece I bought from Liveaquaria
