anyone know what this new heart shaped coral i picked up is??? it looks like a cyphastrea but the growth is real this like a plate... it's purple with green eyes/polpys

im pretty sure its in the same family as h.s. chalice...i think there is a chalice similar called kiwi something chalice

Well I guess it's a lps huh... I'm about 99% sure it's a hollywood stunner it has the lines and everything in it just like the pic posted... As soon as I get a chance I will get a close up for ya guys to see... Not bad for free lol... I was leaving a buddies house and he was taking down his tanks and sold everything but that piece and said here ya go, I'm pulling the plug... I asked what it was and he didn't know...lol

Just a word of warning Troy. If it is a HS, it has LONG sweepers. Much longer than any other chalice that I'm aware of. Just be careful what you place it next to.....

i think they are in the Lamellosa family if i'm not wrong. echinopora lamellosa or something like that (echinophyilla maybe), but that does look like a stunner lookalike. nice pickup homie!!

Thanks for the heads up Craig... Wife took the camera so all I got is the cell phone which sucks...:( that's cool it's a chalice!!! It's big to man like 7" circle lol...

Troy, this is a great piece.... I got a 1" frag in Dec. and now it is 9"+ high light for a lighter blue with green eyes and lower light for a deeper purple/red with green eyes. Supper fast growe and watch the stingers mine will reach out a touch anything 7" away.... The higher the flow the thicker the skeleton will grow but will also slow its outward growth rate, mine is in medium flow and plates like a Monti.
