Hi! I would like to set up a nano reef to upgrade from my 7, while I really enjoy it keeping sps corals in it is a large challenge! I would like to upgrade to a waterbox 15/20 gallon cube, or IM nuvo 20 ( I know I should go larger if possible) depending on how much space I have in my new home. I do like the look of the cube though! So I already have a Kessil A360 tuna blue light for the tank, a thermometer, heater, and all three possible set ups come with a basic return pump. Since I want to do sps, acros are the goal, I would love some advice! I need recommendations of what I still need to pick up gear wise for the tank, and don’t really know what else to get, would anyone recommend a wave maker/powerhead, skimmer, doser, controller, to update the stock return pump, or any other gear for a tank of that size or no? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much in advance!

One or two small powerheads for sure. Skimmer plus/minus for a tank that size (small ones often don't work that well anyway), although some setups come with one so might as well use it. You can wait on a doser until you actually start to see some SPS growth although I agree that one is a good investment for any tank where you want to keep parameters really stable. As far as keeping parameters stable, an ATO would be a great addition.

I always recommend the Tunze ATO

Wavemaker is something I'm considering changing on my 17g cube. I have a single Vortech MP10 right now, but feel like I should maybe add something else. It's worked fine for the past ~1.5yr though.

I'd hold off on the doser. You can always start out with kalkwasser in the ATO to start out (and may never need anything else).

Thanks for the advice! If u ever want to share the MP10, I will gladly take if off ur hands!! I will definitely wait on the doser. Hmmm now I have to decide between the aqua auto and tunze... I would love to hear everyone’s thoughts! And let me know about the MP10 btw! :p:D;););)

I’ve been using the AWC for water changes and top off. Has worked for 4-5 months perfectly. I change about .33 gallons 3 times a day and it tops of water in between. Pretty intuitive

Thanks! Has it been hard to use? Would I need to buy anything else for it? I have never used an ATO before

Smart ATO micro, MP10, and chmipure blue in the backchamber , weekly 10% water change and reef roid, that should be enough , given that you have A360 already

Thanks! I do have the A360, and reef roids! I will definitely pick up some chemipure blue, the smart ATO micro and a lot of water flow!
