For me extremely fast growing, it will kill other cyphastreas and over grow them. It has overgrown minefield and branching cyphastreas also. It has been killed by acroporas, but not montiporas

I treat them as SPS. They dont have the tissue expansion like LPS (ie hammer coral, brain corals, etc) Just large polyp size, but i say they are an SPS type of coral.

First bit of info is that its lps, not sps.

Well, not really, yes and no. There is no such thing as SPS and LPS since polyps don't play by our rules. I've seen this listed as LPS based on polyp size and SPS based on care requirements. I would say SPS is probably the best due to care, but really I don't think there is a definitive answer.

Mine grew slowly at first and then took off and the bigger it gets seems the faster it grows.. Keeps it's blue best in lower light - turns a greenish blue in higher light.

Here's mine before I sold the whole colony. Got it as a quarter sized frag from WWC. That's about 2 yrs. growth.:xd:

Awesome thread! I love this coral! I put up a thread of my own about it before I was shown this thread. The little piece is a frag my buddy gave me, and the one below is the colony I acquired recently. I do notice that the polyps don't extend under super intense lighting. I had the colony in my 50 cube with less intense lighting and the polyps were extended 24/7, but now that it's under my radions, polyps only extend at night. Still waiting on the colony to color up a bit more.

The frag is placed midway in my tank, and the colony is at the bottom end. I think they'd both be happy on bottom tho. The colony is starting to color up. The frag has gotten some nice color but even being midway in my tank, the polyps seem to be hiding from the intensity of the radions.
