St thomas mushroom health

Hello I was wondering if anyone can give me an opinion on my at thomas, I moved it down where theirs less flow and it still sits open like this. All the pictures I seen they are not like this... it's about a half dollar size and I've had it now 2 weeks

Its reaching for light, give it more light. The zoa's also look like they are stretching for more light.

Do you think it's the light power or the fact i use minimal white light? I thought my light would he sufficient

It needs more light, it’s reaching upwards. It should be laying down flat on the rock.

What kind of light do you have on what size tank?

Maybe it's the intensity of the light, was reading the blue light is better idk. Just don't want my system to die, I just got my parameters dialed in and want my stuff to look like Google. Long time cheifer first time reefer this is more intense than I expected

The blue spectrum on that isn’t very strong. Will need to mix in the white with it, even though it may not look that appealing. What’s the wattage?

Probably will need an upgrade as you add more corals. Is that a live coral above the St Thomas?

It looks to be a favia skeleton, i think but no it's not alive I just picked it because it looked cool

Need about 150 watts on a 40 gallon to provide sufficient light. Have a look at nicrew, vivarspectra, smatfarm... these are lower cost lights that have proven to work very well. I myself use a nicrew 100 watt on my 32 gallon ,its a good light.
