Did a bunch of image stacks. The results worked out fairly well.

What image stacking software do you use?
What tripod do you use t o sequentially zoom?
I did this for a while with flowers and insects.
I should get back into it with some of my corals.

Looks great as usual Gary. I especially like the 2nd and 6th pictures.

Those are great Gary!

Picture #2 is Beaker Bob's Flying Saucer and the last photo is a Wilsoni.

Nice pictures gparr and nice corals Sara. Seeing those makes me want to spend the money on a new camera, and some new corals.

Thanks to all. Glad you enjoyed the images.

CSJIII:
Stacking software is Helicon Focus: Image editing software: Products
My tripods and ball heads are all Bogen/Manfrotto
The tripod has nothing to do with a "sequentially zoom." You need a good sturdy tripod for any kind of macro work. To do stacked images, you simply focus at progressively deeper spots in the scene, making sure you overlap your DOF with each shot. The camera and tripod are not moved. Exposure is the same for each shot.

Do you do your shots with a regular macro lens?
Or do you do a reverse macro?

Virtually all of my coral photos are done with my Sigma EX180, with and without extension tubes.
