staghorn hermit crab trouble

I searched but found very little to nothing on this crab. I keep a mixed reef tank with many sps thriving and looking great but this crabs shell seems to slowly die and I have no idea why. Does anyone else have success or failure with the staghorn hermit crab long term?

No I don’t spot feed it but maybe I should start. What would I feed the hydroids, reef roids or phytofeast?

They eat plankton.
