I'll be having a steel stand fabricated for my future 210 gallon, but will be putting a 110 on it in the meantime. But would like some imput.
Most people suggest a 30 inch stand, which with the dimensions of the 210 (72.5x24.5x29.6), puts the top of the tank at 5ft even, just about shoulder height for me. Seems to me like that might make tank maintenance a bit of a pain. After taking some measurements, think I might go for a 20-25 inch stand of, 3/16 mild steel 2" square tube. This should give a comfortable height for viewing and maintenance, and I could fit my current 55 gallon below for a sump or QT tank. Paint with a quality rust proofing paint, and a top made of stainless steel or acrylic.
Any ideas on leveling the stand? Shims, adjustable feet on the stand? I know my floor is far from even, and the stand will be sitting on concrete.
