Month 10 and counting.
Still no h20 changes.
Picked up 3 used Tunze 6105' for a good price.
They replaced the jebao ow 25's that were on the side. They move alot of water with the wide flow and can point them 1' from my acros with no issues.
They also reduced the buildup of detrius on the bottom and I have a spare.
Here are some pics I just took. Next update will be end of June for my 1
year.

6-23-20 tank turned 1 year.

Sending out for ICP test this week.

Still no scheduled water changes.

All acros growing and looking good.

Still running 4b+ 4c+, now for 9hrs, 4" off the surface.

Changed bulbs at 9 months.

Have monti eating nudibranches that have killed one monti and working on one I cant reach.

Must have come in as eggs because I never saw any until a month ago.
I put some coral putty on one that stopped the attack.

Removed the elkhorn monti as it was getting too big. Fragged it and gave away all except one I put back in display. It is a true coral weed.

Had to frag a few other acros that were encroaching on others.

2 Urchins are eating the coralline off the back wall but it grows fast.

Still have sea hare and it keeps algae at bay.
I move him from 120 to frag system and it works well for algae control and keeping it fed.
Its 4+ months in my systems now.

Convict tang that I was told will not live is doing well and getting big and thick. It still keeps all 6 chromis in line.

I really love the carx system as it keeps ca and alk very stable.

I will report back ICP results in a week or 2.
Here are my current tank parameters that I test for after a year.

Temp 79
SG 35 ppt
Alk 7-7.3
Ca 470
Mag 1400
Po4 .02-.04.

@90's reefer

Great looking build, tank looks awesome! Love the simplicity of the setup and the results you have achieved.

I just wanted to get your thoughts on the Tunze 9410 skimmer.

1) I am looking for a skimmer for my ~40 gallon Red Sea system and saw you mention in another thread that you use a 9410 on a 45 gallon frag system. I really like the footprint, specs and reviews I am seeing on how good the Tunze skimmer is, but was a bit worried it would be too much skimmer for my 40 — how has it performed on your 45?

2) Further, I could also see myself upgrading to a 120 in a few years and think the Tunze 9410 might be able to come along for the upgrade (which makes it an even more compelling option haha). Do you find that it is a suitably sized skimmer for your 120 with 40 gallon sump?

So my system is comming up on 15 months now.
I did a 10 gal water change last month and saw no difference for what its worth.
I removed 2 colonies.
A staghorn monti about 2 months ago and a tri color last night.
They got big and I fragged and gave away all of the monti and the tri color is in my frag waiting for the same.
12+ head of frogspawn with clown is also in my frag system too.
More room for acros, lol.
Pic last night.

Guess I better update my lights.
I have had these since startup and just got around to setting them up.
I really like these.
2 250 watt 14k de phoenix in lumen bright reflectors running m80 ballasts.
I have issues with emerald crabs that have stressed and caused 2 acros to stn and 2 more that are stressed.
I have removed 3 and need to remove 4 more.
They are not easy to catch.
Pic was taken 15 minutes ago.
Tank has been stable at 79-81°

Would love to have details on how you made that light hanger for the MH pendants
No problem.
My tank is rimmed.
3 15 series T slot siliconed to the rim.
One 15 series runs the entire length of the back.
They are held together with 2 hole gussets total of 8.
The lights are hung with stainless steel zip ties until I come up with a better way.
My tank is braced on each end with euro style glass and a center piece also.
I siliconed in some thin pvc pieces for extra support but they are probably not needed if your silicone job is done well.
My 8 bulb ati sat on top of the 2 end pieces for 15 months 4" off the surface with no issues.
The T slot has sliders that were siliconed into the tslot and then siliconed to the rim.
I got everything from ebay and tnutz.

Well first equipment issue.
I was lifting my Tunze 3171 out of the sump to clean and the flange came off.
Roger at Tunze has one on the way. It was an issue they had gluing the flange on with first gen units.
So I am dosing esv 2 part but just the alk until it arrives.
I am taking this time to lower my CA closer to 420. It has ran 470ish since firing up the carx.
No issues running 470 just wanted to lower it.
My alk is running 7.5 mag 1350.
New alk target is 7-7.5.
Was 7.5-8.
My tank just looks better at 7-7.5.
Probably because of lower nutrients.

Lights off pic this morning.
This is what my tank looks like with lights on.
Lights off pics give me true colors on my phone.
The softball size acro in pic 2 is what my emerald crabs have done to it.
Its mostly brown from their constant picking but not dead yet.
Still shows some green up where they cant get at.
Beware of emerald crabs!
Still about 4 to remove.

New update.
Carx came in, thanks Roger.
Fired it up and running 60ml effluent and 48 bpm and its holding 7.2 dkh for 2 day.
Thinking about a filter roller.
May build a manual one myself.
Growth is still good and noticably increasing since the change from T5 to MH.
A few coral browned up a bit adjusting to the MH but are comming back already.
Halides on for 8 hrs.
No change in tank temp with the halides.
Fragged the green tenuis and put a piece back in the tank.
This was the one the emerald crabs stressed.
Added 3 new never had before corals for fill in
Tank is still 90% sps.
Added orange goniopora, donut coral, and a lobo.
6 blue green chromis still here after 14 months.
Convict tang keeps them inline.
Added a foxface as last fish. Lost my lawnmower blenny.
Had for a year and was doing well then gone.
Fighting a few aptasia but f aptasia and aptasia x taking care of them when I see them.
Have quite a few in the overflow so need to remove them.
Pics of new never had before corals.

Here is a few more cell pics I just took.
Good representation of what some of my corals look like.
First is a wild smooth skin sps. Never had visible polyps until 3rd week of running MH.
Second is a wild sps just starting to color up.
Third is my green slimmer. Finally starting to go upward. Based out for a year. Halides have already contributed to new growth.
A few more.
