Looks great man! Wish I would have built a shallower rockwork as you did here.

I have always had the great rock wall of reefing, lol.
I am liking the low rock scape look.
Wished I would have turned the tank and made it a peninsula though, only regret so far.
I could have had 20 more corals, lol.
Here is my newest addition from last Saturday.
Its a blue matrix. It is thicker than all my stags and the colony was huge, 12" diameter or better.
Cant wait to see what it looks like in a year.
My reef is mixed but stags are my favorite.
Its about 3".

Hi, Just wanted your thoughts on the tunze calcium reactor. Is it worth buying that compared to the dastaco. and what media are you using in it. Why do you have it in your sump? just a few questions, sorry about that

The Tunze is small and they are designed to run in a sump.
I run the Tunze manmade media combined with the smallish reactor makes it very efficient for a 120.
Been running it for a year now. Alk stays at 7.2 +- .3 and is vey consistant.
The dastaco is a completly different animal as I run no ph probe or controller on mine.

1.5 years since starup today!
Man time flys by.

So far no issues. Stil have only done 2 10 gal wc's. I am going to do another 10 this weekend.

Growth is very impressive since changing to MH 3 months ago.

Will be putting up an OR3 blue plus light bar for dawn and dusk when the hardware arrives.
Currently 14 fish with no plans for more.

Still dosing ez trace at 6ml a day and ez carbon at 5ml a day.
Strontium at 5ml week.

Here are a few pics.
Will post a video in a few days.

3rd WC today in 1.5 years of 10 gallons.
It takes time to get my salt from 9.5 to 7 with sodium bisulfate.
Only issue is removing the green mushrooms as they are killing corals next to them.

I removed 8 today.
They have multiplied greatly since adding the MH 3 months ago.
They are becomming another weed.
The problem is they also release and land on corals causing death.
Here is a pic of an area I removed them from and a fts.
I will get a video up soon.

When you said you had a minimalist aquascape you weren't kidding. Looking good.
Thanks! I have always had the, Great Rock Wall, of reefing.
Since the Halides came online 3 months ago its really starting to fill in.
Just took the last pics of 2020.

Mushroom alert!
This is the fourth time now that a mushroom has released and caused damage to one of my sps.
One was a small frag and died.
One is a tubbs monti that recovers when I remove the shroom.
Another sps has the middle out of it but is still alive.
Another one I found the shroom on it in the morning so I know whats going on. I put putty over the dead area and it stopped the stn and it continues to grow.
Woke up this morning to another attack.
This time to the base of my large purple stag.
The mushroom colony is directly below it.
I found the shroom in question stuck to the back of a powerhead.
I have been removing a few every few weeks but they seem to never thin out.
I am going to remove as many as I can over the next week but many are in areas I can not get too.
Guess I will have to frag the stag and relocate whats left when I get home tonight.
This happened from lights out at 9pm and at 7am when I looked at the tank.
All I can say is beware of shrooms as they are deadly to sps, imo, and experience.

Update on the shroom issue.
Found another couple stuck to powerheads.
So far no more encroachment on the purple stag.
Removed the anacropora, green slimeball, and fraged it into my frag system
That makes room for another type, maybe a homewrecker, but not sure I can locate one locally.
Still need to remove more disco mushrooms.
A couple today pics.
Also picked up these 2 gorgonians from lfs that came from a local reefers tank.

Another growth pic.
This is a wild acro I got from lfs.
First pic is 8 months ago when I put it in my system.
Other pic is one I just took.
No idea what it actually is as it has no name.
It does grow like a stag.
Anyone?

I removed my goni to the frag system. It was getting to big.
I also removed my biggest stag.
I have 2 of the same stag in the tank.
I fragged a bunch of pieces and gave a few away. I glued a large piece onto a rock as it was to big for a frag plug.
You can now see my WD and Pink Floyd as they were directly behind the stag.
Saturday I picked up a maricultured colony for $50.
Will see how it colors up as all were pretty much browned out.

Pic 1 is stag in frag system

Pic 2 is the now easy to see WD and Pink Floyd

Pic 3 is the new colony.
It will most likely stay on the bottom unless I remove something to make room for it.

Last note: I am doing the Battle Corals Bonfire Growout contest and removed my slimeball awhile ago and now have a perfect spot for it.

Well **** I woke up to this!
Nudibranches eating my bubblegum digi.
Cut off effected pieces and put glue and putty around the dead area hoping to seal them in.
I am not sure where they came from except eggs from somewhere.
Removed at least 5 on pieces I cut off.
Not sure how long eggs last but they must have been eating the digi from the bottom up as they were full grown.
I look inspect my tank every day.
I did not see anything until I woke up.
Very strange and not sure how bad it will be down the road.
Must have been 5-6 full grown ones.
I have 8 other monti's that have been in my tank for well over a year.
You can see them in the pics.
