I have been considering adding a starfish too my reef, 80 gallon 48x24x16. I have looked at a blue sea star, a sand shifting star and a britle star. Just curious which one you would say would be best and why. My clowns just love hosting my GSP. lol.

Out of those choices, I would do a brittle. The sand sifting star will deplete your sand bed of the micro fauna rather quickly. The blue sea star (linckia) have poor survival rates. Brittle stars can be a beneficial part of the CUC, but beware if the green ones. I have heard they eat fish.

Brittle or a serpent. I have had a few green ones and never had a problem with them eating fish. I have heard about it plenty but i think the fish would need to b sick for this to happen

The brittle is the easiest to care for and totally harmless. I agree that linkia and the sand sifting are not suitable for most aquaria.

I have also seen people have success with fromia or tile starfish.
