starfish id and admirers

my wife talked me into a new starfish for the fish only tank, added to our chocolate chip and red general star, i have never seen a star like this, and looking for a place for good info, thanks alot for any help

Can you post a picture? If you can't post your own picture, perhaps you can do a google search of starfish and find a picture that looks like yours and then post the link to that picture. That will help anyone here with experience with starfish offer help with id.

Those are pretty dude. I don't know a whole lot about the various stars. I had a pinkish colored serpent and a reddish brittle. I ended up giving them to my niece and her fiance and they're doing quite well

Did you get this starfish from petco? I know the starfish comes from the Philippines and is from the same island ( Panglao ) you find regular chocolate chip star.

Found a scientific name for it. Its in the family Oreasteridae. Species Pentaster obtusatus.

You're welcome. I asked about petco because I worked there years ago and that was the only other time I seen one of those starfish. It came in with the chocolate chip stars. They are beautiful

Right on I've been using Fish Doctors 20 years lol I can see the west park band shell in my backyard!
