Starfish in overflow

Can someone please advise how to get a brittle starfish out of the overflow on my Red Sea 650 peninsula?

Can the tubes be removed in order to pick it up by hand or will I have water everywhere?
Maybe there is another way that has worked for someone. I don’t want to hurt or kill him.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

Tie a piece of shrimp to some long ridge air line tube (or other)
See if he will latch on then slowly pull him upwards.
Kinda like fishing.

So, the afternoon is gone and I need to turn on the return pump again. Apparently the starfish is not hungry and wouldn’t take the bait. I will try again another time.
It’s my understanding that starfish should not be out of the water which makes me wonder how it got into the overflow in the first place. or possibly that isn’t true.
Either way, I thank you for the suggestion and will hope to be successful next time.

I am happy to report that the starfish has returned to the main tank of his own accord. I tried unsuccessfully to lure him out of the overflow multiple times with no luck.
At one point I saw that he was at the top with an inch of arm through one of the slots on the weir. I removed the panels with the slots and it was more open but with my messing around there he retreated to the bottom. I left the panels off and after 2-3 days it got over the edge and into the main tank.
I do thank you for your suggestion and very much depend on the quality exchange of information here.
