I have this starfish 5 days now, and it hasn’t moved more than a few inches... these phots are 2 days apart! I’m not even sure it’s still alive... any suggestions of what I should do? How can I check if it’s ok / save it?

If it starts to fall apart then it’s dead. Starfish are very hard to keep and most don’t do good in any tanks
All you can do is let it be

This is not an easy or beginner star.
How old is your tank?
What is your salinity, nitrate and phos levels ?

He's fine. I had one of my starfish do that for few days. I kept picking him up he was stiff and I was freaking out. He's just eating and getting use to your tank.. leave him alone he will move in a few days

No idea if it’s fine or not. As a prior post notes these stars have a horrible survival rate in reef tanks. Almost all of them starve and start to disintegrate. Sorry .....

Parameters all fine, they were checked in LFS the day I got him and checked salinity daily since, has been stable. Although I’m beginning to think it might not have been the best choice if they are so hard to keep!

Just wanted to update on this... my star sigh must have just been settling in that first week, since then he has been on the move daily and is looking good ⭐
