I got myself a starry blenny. I know they’re supposed to be herbivores but when I asked to see him eat in the store, they feed him mysis Ava he was eating it. Still is in my tank now. I offered nori on a clip but doesn’t touch it. What else can I try? Is there a flake or something that my clown, six line and gobies will eat? I tried omega 1 pellets but he didn’t seem interested.

Hi there!
My starry Benny just picked algae off my rocks and the back wall of my biocube. He literally eats anything. He loves algae wafers. So try that if your tank is super clean. Just break them into pieces and throw it in there. He’ll find one and go crazy. Hope this helps!

I had a starry and he was a pig. If you keep putting nori on a clip, and there’s no algae on your rocks, they’ll eventually start eating it.

These are the ones I got and he loves them. He won’t come out and chase them when you drop them in but he eventually finds them at the bottom and go at it.

my starry blenny eats everything. any frozen food, loves flake food and even tried a piece of cucumber and he was seen eating bits of it.

Will a starry blenny murder my diamond goby?
I've always been interested in one, but I've heard they are murderous bullies?
My starry blenny is the biggest bully in my tank.
I have 2 clowns, a bi color blenny, a nap wrasse and the starry. And for awhile I could not add anything else. He would attack the crap out of it and they never make it. So I stop at 5. I always wanted a goby, shrimp pair. So last week I got a banded goby and a mandarin dragonnet. I use an acclimation box for 12 hours over night then release them in it. And they were fine! He didn’t bother them!

Interesting. So he would be a good LAST addition is the jist of it.
I'm beginning to think I should have an algae eater here. Snails and hermits never last long with a melanurus wrasse.

I threw some reef frenzy in last night and he was eating like a gavone, taking turns with my clown ripping pieces off. Lol

I haven’t had an issue yet, he was the last one in so far, seems ok with my clown, ywg, neon goby, six line and fire fish. Hasn’t btohered my shrimps. But all of a sudden I do see a massive hole in one of my Micromussas… maybe just a coincidence? Lol

Oh man, I have a bunch of micromussas. I'd be mad.
Sometimes, adding a more aggressive fish last can avert the aggression. But I don't know once they make themselves at home. Sometimes that changes. This is my third diamond goby I have. The first one had some parasitic arthropod on its tongue and I couldnt catch him, he wasted away and died.

Then the second one was too small and got murdered by my red belted anthias....now I have a third one and he's doing good, but he's making a freaking mountain out of the left side of my tank and for the past week or so, I have to push all the sand back...and then he starts again.

Some of these blennies and gobies are real bungholios if you know what I mean.
I'd like to add an algae eater, but the starry and redlip can be jerks. I don't want to lose 2 for the price of 1.

I wish all these fish would just mind their own freaking business and do their job!!! 🤣

It seems to only be affecting this one polyp of this one particular micro, so hopefully it’s just a fluke 😂 pun intended
