He’s been grazing all over the aquarium for like 3 months. Fat and healthy but never showed any interest in frozen or dry foods. And then today he left the rock work grabbed some PE mysis shrimp soaked in selcon and made a mad dash back to his cave. Then came for more :)

Have y’all found that all starry blennies eventually eat frozen food or should I consider myself lucky? Lucky as far as having something to fall back on if his main grazing needs are suddenly not being met for whatever reason.

My starry prefers frozen to anything else. She picks at the rocks and glass if she doesn’t think I’m watching. Also eats pellets and nori. She’s going on 2 years with me.

I would prefer if my algae eaters stick to eating the algae in my tanks instead of stealing my other fish's food.
My starry blenny pair is so far at still going after algae but when I feed the clownfish in their tank they are standing in the flow, waiting to grab their share.
My two baby foxfaces are far worse by now. They have double in length in just a few weeks but they mostly wait to be fed instead digging into the algae (which was the whole reason why I got them in the first place.)

I completely agree, but it is always nice to have a plan B.
