Hello fellow reefers,
I've always enjoyed aquariums and first started with Fresh Water having flowerhorns. I then decided with the push from my cousin to try saltwater. At first I started with a 30g tank that had a hang on back filter and skimmer. The intention was to see if I could keep the fish/coral alive and then move on to a bigger tank. At the time my cousin had an 80g set up and every time I went to visit him he could see that I was memorized. I ran my 30 gal for almost a yr until a nudi got caught in my power head and ended up killing almost everything in my tank. Lucky, my cuz with the help of my mom decided to surprise me with a used 125g. He even started cycling the tank by the time I got home. Lucky, that tank was cycling for a while and I was able to remove whatever was salvageable from my 30g into the 125g to keep some of my corals going.
here are some pics of the 30g that I started with:
Now here are some pics of the 125G. This tank has been thru many changes as I wanted to try and keep as many tangs as possible and at one point point had 8 tangs in my tank. Then I got a little greedy thinking I could be the tang wisperer and added a powder blue and all my tangs dies except for my Chevron. Anyways here are some pics:
Many of these pics are older and the tank looks much different now. I took out most of the pom pom xenia, my achilles died, ive added acans, zoas/polys and now am getting into SPS. I'll update this as soon as I can with more pictures and information. My next steps are setting up mu dosing pump and apex system.
Tank is lit by two 250w 10k MH bulbs and 4 T-5 Blue actinic lights.
