Starting SPS corals......things to consider??

Hi all.
I'm hoping to begin keeping mixed reef, and wanted to start keeping some SPS corals. Apart from the parameters and lighting/flow. Is there anything youd suggest before I delve into keeping SPS keeping
My parameters and equipment are as followed......

Parameters........
PH (redsea) -8.2
KH (salifert) - 8.7
Calcium(salifert)- 400-410
Magnesium (salifert)- 1275
Nitrites (redsea)- 0
Nitrates(redsea)-5-10ppm
Ammonia(redsea)- 0
Phos (salifert) - 0
Salinity- 1025

Aquarium =
Aquahabitats 30litre nano
Equipment=
Reef Skim Nano 50 Protein Skimmer from TMC
Powerhead = TMC Micra NW 430l/hr
Filter sponges in media basket/rack
Was using a nano wavemaker also, but seemed too strong for inhabitants.
Lighting=
UFO Zetlight

What kind of SPS are you interested in? A lot of the difficulty reputation around SPS comes from the difficulty level of keeping acropora; not all SPS is necessarily that challenging. My tank is a mixed reef, but I keep mostly SPS (a lot of acros). I try to mess with my tank as a little as possible ("keep your hands out of the tank", stability, etc), and I test alkalinity once per day around the same time each day.

Look up the Tidal Gardens video "easy mode SPS" for great suggestions on easier SPS corals to keep.

I was hoping to keep Acros + montiporas mainly. Everything seems stable, and Parameters are stable. I change approx 10% water weekly.

Also, is my lighting going to be sufficient enough for acros?

Light should be fine in a small tank like that. Shadows might get to be an issue when stuff get larger, but this is a good problem to have. A PAR meter would help let you know where you can keep different types of acropora - those lights have a powerful cone under the light with less output away from the cone.

If you are rocking new coralline growth all of the time, then that is about as good as it get to give acros a try. Good luck.
