Frogspawn coral death! :-(

Hi everyone,
I’m looking to getting a new frogspawn coral in the near future.
However, I’m trying to work out what happened to my previous frag which literally just shrivelled up one day and died :( Any suggestions as to why this happened? As I obviously want to avoid this happening again.
Parameters........
PH (redsea) -8.2
KH (salifert) - 8.7
Calcium(salifert)- 400-410
Magnesium (salifert)- 1275
Nitrites (redsea)- 0
Nitrates(redsea)-5-10ppm
Ammonia(redsea)- 0
Phos (salifert) - 0
Salinity- 1025

Aquarium =
Aquahabitats 30litre nano
Equipment=
Reef Skim Nano 50 Protein Skimmer from TMC
Powerhead = TMC Micra NW 430l/hr
Filter sponges in media basket/rack
Was using a nano wavemaker also, but seemed too strong for inhabitants.
Lighting=
UFO Zetlight

Your parameters look good, how old is your tank? You mentioned that you “where” running a Wavemaker that was to powerful for your tank, frogspawn and most Euphyllia do not like a lot of flow which may keep them from inflating properly or cause flesh to pull off skeleton.. IMO the branching variety are typically easier to keep than the wall variety.

My tank is about 2.5-3 years old.
The wave maker was only on for 1 hour max in total after I bought it (not as in hour a day) My cleaner shrimp seemed to be struggling in the current. So it hasn’t been turned on since.
It was extending beautifully (branching type) then one morning..... refused to open and just shrivelled from there on :(

Not sure what may have caused it, how long did you have it and was it inflating fully and looking healthy before it died? Anything in your tank bothering it? I stopped keeping shrimp because they can aggravate corals by climbing all over them, picking at them and stealing their food.

Had it approx 6 months. Was inflating fully and looking really healthy. Nothing was bothering it that I could see. And to be fair to my shrimp,..... she’s pretty well behaved :)(well, when I’m looking at least lol!)
I may give it another go and see what happens ;Happy

For me it seems all the bad stuff happens when I’m not looking.. lol! sometimes corals just don’t make it even in the best of conditions maybe you will have better luck with the next one.. Happy Reefing!
