As I am planning on moving to the USA and marry my beautiful fiancee in the near future, I had to put a hold on my tank plans here in Netherlands.
I'll be leaving for the US somewhere in August.

This will be my very first saltwater tank. I will keep updating this as I move along with the process.

With some luck I will get some corals from my friend who sells them as part of his hobby.

So here is what I plan on getting equipment-wise:
  • Mr. Aqua 12 Gallon Long (3 foot long club here I come!) (Marinedepot)
  • Mr. Aqua 11.4 Gallon (Sump) (Marinedepot)
  • Cobalt Aquatics Neo-Therm 150W (Marinedepot)
  • VorTech MP10 (BRS)
  • Kessil 360W-E (BRS) - Two of them since they have a 2 foot range
I will update this post as I go along.

I changed the lighting out for a custom NanoBox Reef light from NanoBox. These will be more suitable instead of the Kessil's. After research the Kessil's will give a lot of wasted light because of the narrow and low depth design.

I love how they look. Not an eyesore at all. Plus with the added options, it makes it well worth the money to support a creative mind instead of a mass produced product.

Thanks for the follow Lalani!

Thanks both of you! I will slowly update every stage of the build. It will be a slow one but hopefully I will get there. Slowly and steady wins the race if I am not mistaken. Especially when it involves living things and their habitat.

Been working on getting a room with the average lengths so that I could figure out how to place the tank in the office space we intend on making.

My father-in-law is a woodworker and did these kind of things for a living. So with that in mind my fiancee gave me some thoughts she had for desk sizes. She is a case worker and wants a long desk to work on. So I made a long desk on the wall.

At the corner of the table where the tank stand is a closet for the sump etc. Above the tank the lights will hang on a bookshelf. This way I can put some daily things above the tank. Let me know what you think of the design and if this could work.
