Sort of a mauve/purple color. I just got this, so hoping it will color up some.

Is your white with yellow polyps a slow grower?
All the others I purchased at the same time, are growing like weeds.
But the white with yellow polyps isn't growing very much. It's seems to about the same size as when I purchased it.

I have a cousin that's traveling the whole USA at this time and he just picked these up and I'm taking care of them for him when he gets back at the end of next year. To his home in Miami.

I've seen them listed cheaper at aquasd a few times over the past year. I've thought about buying one but ultimately haven't yet

I saw those listed on Aqua SD also. It seems that they have listed several different softies under the same name. Tough to tell with the top down picture. If you Google Japanese Christmas tree coral, it shows a NPS softie of the genus Studeriotes. Some pictures were definitely these. Other pictures now look Capnella

yeah well us softie lovers have to stay together and trade/sell each other our frags. it will be about a year until I have anything of value but slowly getting there.

I'm about a year out as well. :)

Here's a shot I just took (under ATI Blue plus). Was super happy after a spot feeding. Seems to do great with high flow and high light (SPS tank)

Can anyone provide some placement tips for Stereonephthya?

I have a couple of small specimens that I've had in the sanded for about to months. They're looking OK, but I want to place them permanently somewhere in the tank.

What are the recommendations for flow and lighting? Also, I have some dirtier and cleaner areas in my tanks as well. By dirty areas, I mean the places where detritus tends to accumulate a bit faster.

Any preliminary placement tips would be appreciated. Of course, the number one rule is to see how the coral responds to the location, but I prefer not to move them too many times.

Thanks!

I keep my stereos mid level where they can get a good random flow. PAR between 100-150
I hope this helps

I put my Koji Wada on top based on other posts, probably > 400 PAR. I've only had it a couple months, so I can't say for certain if this was good. But I haven't bleached or killed it.
