I don't believe there is a need to "sterilize" the equipment, but a need to clean off any residual toxins. Hot water and soap should take care of this.

I second this.

If you use the same equipment between your main tank and on new incoming frags, it would be good to allow the equipment to completely dry going between the QT to Display tank to limit the transfer of fish diseases. Although highly unlikely, it would be a shame to QT all of your inhabitants and to have that be the cause of velvet or ich reaching your main system!

I don't even use soap on mine unless I can see any residue sticking to them. Quality stainless steel cleans off pretty easily with a hot water rinse.

Bleach removes bio-film. Rinse, rinse and let dry. This is my usual for cleaning tanks, equipment, etc. But for when there has been an active disease >>>
Hydrogen Peroxide destroys any carbon based material/film. Rinse, rinse, and let dry.
