I am in the process of upgrading to a 300 aquarium. I have a 150 stock tank I'd like to use as a sump. Cant figure out how I would utilize an internal skimmer in it? I have a Reef Octo Regal 250 internal skimmer that needs about 8 inch of water to run properly. I've seen a couple pictures on here of stock tank sumps, but most are external skimmers or don't show how the skimmer is positioned in the sump. Any idea how I could accomplish this?

If your sump is going to be under your display, you just need enough headroom to be able to sit the skimmer in the sump. Just position it in the sump and make sure your water level in the sump is at 8 inches.

Stand. At one time my "sump" was 3 100g stock tanks and I did run an internal skimmer for a while I just built a stand out of pvc and eggcrate. Eventually through a stroke of luck I got a very large external skimmer.
