Hello all.

I'm going to be stocking my newest reef tank soon (planning SPS/lps) 6' 220g barebottom display, 36g sump, 24g display refugium.
https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/new-220-accountability-thread.581051/

I let the tank run for about 3.5 months before adding below stock since I did a 20/80% live to dry rock and I wanted the system to mature a bit before I added fish.

I added two chromis 2 weeks ago and the rest over the last week (some unplanned...).

Right now I have the following:
1x ~5in yellow tang
1x ~2in hippo tang*
2x chromis
4x firefish goby (a personal favorite)
2 o. clowns
1x Mexican Turbo snail
1x Sally Lightfoot crab

* I know. Unfortunately 'Dory' was being offloaded from a 40b because the owner "found out it might get big." I figured it would have a better chance of survival in mine for the time being. It wouldn't be terrible if I had to justify an 8 foot fowlr one day ;)

Right now I'm at a mental block with the rest. I'm going to post them as I find them, but right now I am thinking:
-1x foxface or rabbitfish
-Possibly a dwarf angel (still debating since they can nip at corals, but I would add it well after the coral is established and hope that damage is at least distributed)
-I've looked at wrasses, but it is hard to get a sense of which prefer a sand bed; all of my reef tanks are/have been substrate-less.
- Maybe two more firefish
- maybe shrimp, I'm holding off on shrimp eaters. it depends on whether I keep that crab or move him to my other tank long-term.

If anyone has any creative ideas then let me know. I plan on running as is for a while and then updating this post as I figure out more.

Fish, like most other livestock options are such personal choices.

So here's a bump and I hope you get some suggestions. Good luck.

Here's where we at so far - still looking for ideas if I'm not full up on fishers. Right now it's just what appeals to me in the LFS while I wait to add corals (right now there's just a duncans & very small montipora plate).

Display (220g):
  • 4 firefish
  • 4 chromis
  • 1 out of 2 total bangaii cardinal**
  • 1 out of 2 total o. clownfish**
  • 1 yellow tang
  • 1 foxface
  • 1 hippo tang
  • the dang sally lightfoot crab I will never catch
  • 1 cleaner shrimp
  • 1 now-magnificently-large mexican turbo snail and CUC
* Overflow #1
  • The other bangaii cardinal
** Overflow #2
  • The other clownfish

Display fuge (18'cube):
  • turtle grass
  • 2 purple firefish
  • 1 fire shrimp

I'm mulling over adding seahorses to the display fuge since I can keep the temp a little lower than the display due to the low flow and placement of it. There will be a lot of mulling before this happens.

Maybe an Acanthurus Tang or Kole Tang. What kind of fish do you like? It will be pretty hard to feed the seahorses with tangs so they will have to be target fed. Also, some seahorses might work but still need 72 - 78 Degrees.
