Unfortunately, despite my attempts to pull fish out to medicate, i had a complete wipe out of my tank due to velvet/brooklynella.
I have one lone survivor that i've been trying to trap for the past month (yellow chrysus wrasse) that is asymptomatic, but will be taken out to keep main tank fallow.
Currently thinking about how i'm going to restock the tank. I have two fish in QT right now (Ocellaris clown, coral beauty). I will reset the quarantine time as soon as i add the yellow wrasse to the mix. Plan is to QT for a total of 60 days with observation similar to the recommendation by Jay Hemdal for QT.
Overall tank plan is mixed reef. likely sps and lps. no softies or minimal softies.
Thinking of following in terms of stocking plans.
QT1 (current group): Yellow chrysus wrasse (if rescued), Ocellaris Clown x 1, coral beauty
QT2: Lawnmower Blenny, Royal Gramma, One spot Foxface
QT3: Two spot bristletooth tang, mandarin dragonet
There is a plan to eventually have a 200g FOWLR on the horizon, but anticipate will keep these fish in tank for a period of time. i've considered yellow tang + bristletooth to be introduced simultaneously as well to avoid aggression but thought foxface might be a better choice as they tend to be more peaceful.
i'm avoiding additional wrasses as to not decimate the pod population for the mandarin, but planning on getting a captive bred one.
