Never thought that I would see such a stonefish, is it just covered in algae? Or is it it's natural colour?

its a stonefish...
stonefish is a singular species(correct me if im wrong)
they can come in a variety of colors(to blend in), purples are rare tho
I don't know much about stonefish since this will be my first time caring for one, though, i did see different species in the same genus such as synanceia horrida, synanceia nana etc
