Stop using FedEx!

If you have a FedEx holding facility somewhat nearby, I’d recommend having your livestock delivered there. It’s climate controlled and it will arrive there early in the morning, long before it’s loaded onto a hot or cold delivery truck and brought to your home 6-8 hours later. I’ve had much better results doing it this way.

Ive had issues with both company's every now and then. My last delivery was perfect with both company's. But sometimes Ive been pushed to the end of the day

Hopefully no one else has had as worst of luck as I have had from FedEx. I’m not sure why these online coral shops continue using them. In the dozens of orders I’ve had using FedEx, the shipment has been late or delayed every single time… Not once has the initial tracking been accurate..of course with livestock on board. UPS has been so much more reliable. Apparently FedEx uses third party vendors to deliver their packages where UPS uses their own dedicated drivers. Anyways… just venting here.. can these companies please stop using FedEx

Fedex used to be good, but definitely has gone downhill over the last several years.

UPS overnight priority / morning delivery has been pretty solid for me.

Working for an airline I see FedEx in Milwaukee consistent with arrival time daily. If late, its generally 20 minutes

I’m so used to picking up live animal shipments at my FedEx Ship Center that I was super anxious about getting fish and corals delivered to my house, but they’ve been fine. Usually get to me between 10 and 11 am and the ship center opens at 9, so that’s pretty good time.

I have a UPS order coming tomorrow, so I’ll update this post if they are horrible

I live in S. Florida meaning its hot at midnight and scorching during the daytime. I've had 2 day deliveries from excellent vendors like Dinkins and Macromosaics, packaged in styrofoam lined containers with multiple cold packs. In other words they did a fine job. On there other hand, UPS and Fedex delays or just poor routing meant opening my deliveries to find them with water vapor steamed on the inside of the plastic bags my items were in. Both vendors backed up their products with no cost replacements, and I continue to do business with them.

UPS and Fedex often deliver late in the day where our "fragile, live animal labeled packages" have been in sweltering heat in the back of the truck since their 7am loading.

MY ADVICE: Whether its cold or hot where you are, arrange for pick up at your nearest UPS/FEDEX Depot. Get your items maybe a day earlier and not stressed from bouncing around in a truck for a day. Sure that's a pain, or more difficult but, healthier outcomes result and you didn't waste a life or your money.

I got a fedex delivery of coral today. All my coral orders have been from fedex no matter where I’ve gotten them from. They always come around 10-11 for me. Today the bags were super cold but the heat/water packs had no heat so I’m not blaming fedex. They were all acros and really cold and still pretty pale in color so hopefully they’ll color up soon. But I haven’t had any issues with FedEx

Fedex Express are actual Fedex employees. Ground, Home, etc are all contractors.

Fedex is more consistent time wise here. UPS can come at 9am one day and 4pm the next. Fedex Express and ground are at the same time nearly every single time.

Every time I get fish and coral in through fed ex it’s always on time and all ends well so for me it’s great

Not only is it area specific but it also depends on who your driver is. We have a fire access gate at the edge of our property. The driver left my order from corals.com on top of the motor encasement in 85 degree weather. They didn’t even go down the correct street, saw a gate and left it. I called Fedex to ask where my order was because they said it was delivered and when the guy returned my phone call I gave him a scolding (in the nicest way I could manage). Sometimes you get a driver that isn’t very bright.

Holy crap…. UPS already let me down. I just got an email with the delivery info….

I requested FedEx shipping from the seller, but they messaged me back saying they couldn’t. Ugh. Hope the corals are packed well… the high tomorrow is 97 degrees.

FedEx is my preferred shipper hands down.
They have people who look for those live animal stickers on the boxes and put them as far towards the front of their routes as they can.

Now the local UPS guy must have a girlfriend about 2 miles from my house. When I'm tracking a local shipment his truck seems to be stationary at a certain location for an hour or more.

My experience with Fed Ex is the opposite. One of the drivers here literally throws the box down the walk way to my front door (yes they are all clearly labeled live animals). Of course he is far enough way my doorbell camera doesn’t go off so I can’t send a video to Fed ex. Now it does get here before UOS, so I will give them that.

My UPS drivers on the other hand will actually ring the doorbell to hand the package to me when it says live animals.

It really depends on the area you're in and it also comes down to the individual delivery drivers sometimes.

Where I'm at UPS is the worse of the two.

Where I am at, UPS is the worst. Even a priority overnight is guaranteed by 8pm. I’ve had corals ride around all day in a truck only to reach 8pm and be returned to the hub for delivery the next day. FedEx priority is here before noon. Because of that I always ask for FedEx.

UPS also has no climate control in their trucks where the FedEx priority vans have A/C. In Texas that makes a huge difference too!

That’s if they actually put the priority packages in the priority van. When I lived outside Nashville, my priority packages arrived on the regular Fed ex truck after 5pm nearly every time.
