String substance on my zoa

I purchased this zoa over the weekend. I didn't dip it. I know I should be dipping.

But I found this string-like substance on it this morning. I'm curious what it could be.

Looks like zoa poop :)
 
Thank you for the answers. I've never seen that happen before. I was concerned it was worms.
