I've been having some issues with this red "hair" algae lately. I've had it in the tank for quite a while, at first it was a slow grower and since the colour is quite pretty I left it be. Lately it has been growing more vigorously and overtaking some smaller LPS frags. I'm aware that there is also some bubble algae in the picture but it isn't a pressing issue right now.
It's always a deep red with little to no colour variation, it clings really strongly to rocks and doesn't scrub off with a toothbrush or a harder syntetic material brush. I've menaged to scrape some off with coral cutters at the cost of scraping a layer of rock allong with it, it doesn't seem it would be an option for claring the frags.
Does anyone have any tips on dealing with this kind of algae? I purchased a molly miller blenny in the hopes it would go for it, but so far no luck.
