Substrate for stingrays

I have a buddy who has a tank with the caribsea special grade sand https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/caribsea-seaflor-special-grade-reef-sand-substrate



Is this fine enough for stingrays?

Does your buddy have sting rays too? I know that the finer the better. I think bare bottom would be good too. Maybe @lion king has some advice?

I have this sand with my blue dot ray in a 240, only 160lbs of sand, but mine prefers to stay under a cave anyways.
