suggest another wrasse for me?

The mystery wrasse is my favorite wrasse and in my top 5 favorite fish.

It’s a bit more aggressive than your fairy wrasse, but 80 gallons should be plenty of space for both to thrive. Especially given the fairy is the first wrasse and already established.

I personally have a pink streak wrasse in my nano, and I love it. Doesn’t come out often, but has striking colors, those bright golden/orange bulging eyes and such a peaceful temperament.

I have a tricolor fairy wrasse male in a 69g (soon to be 83g). Can someone suggest another wrasse that would work with him?
Assuming that is a lubbocki, there are several fairies that would work with it. Also any flasher would be worth a shot, although I might stray from the 8-line due to size.

Here are some ideas for fairies to go with your lubbocki:

If you have a sand bed any leopard wrasse will do fine. For Halichoeres, stick to the 4-5" species: chrysus, leucoxanthus, claudia, biocellatus, cosmetus, iridis. For Anampses, I am only considering one for my 83: neoguinaicus. Pink streaks and possums are great, just make sure the lubbocki leaves them alone (best to introduce with other wrasse at the same time and use an acclimation box).

would another flasher or leopard wrasse need to be the opposite gender of my C Lubboki?

Nope! Although I always recommend getting a female in any case since 1) female leopards look nicer, 2) female fairies/flashers are fun to watch transition.

and which return pump did you go with? I got the current usa 1900 GPH (hope it’s not overkill). Working on finding a custom lid that isn’t 450$
Same return. It isn't overkill if you go with a 1" random flow generator. For lids, I got a WalterLid off of Etsy that is really great. Under $200.
