I'm currently using Pura Phoslock media in a mesh bag in my HOB filter. Does anyone like a particular brand when it comes to Iron Oxide Hydroxide , phosphate binding media? Thanks!

Phosphate media does best when it can be "tumbled" and aerated, which is why a Phosban Reactor works the best IMO. I use a TLF Phosban Reactor, with Phosban media and it works great.

It takes a chemist to tell the performance difference between all the different GFO and GFH medias. There are only a couple of producers in the world and all the resellers get it from the same places. One thing I do look for though is larger granule or pelletized media, it does not seem to clump as bad as the smaller grains. What I have now is the pelletized GFO from Bulk Reef Supply.
