I have a tank already setup and have a ton of aiptasia on it. I tried the nudibranch and did a great job. However, I think must of died now as aiptasia came back. My plan is to replace all the rock with dry and redo tank.

I looked at caribsea liferock is that one mix of sizes? I like to have some caves, etc. How much will I need for a red sea max e170?

I plan on buying the rock and put it in a 10 gallon tank to cycle. Once cycled remove the rock in my tank, replace sand, clean it, etc.

Thoughts?

The Carib sea life rock is good stuff. Cycling ahead of time is a great idea. I wouldn't mess with the microbiome that's already established in your sand. If you have some pieces of rock that you are certain do not contain aptasia, I would add a few pieces of those to your life rock barrel to get it cycled with the same species and concentrations of microbiota.

Just remember to disinfect you tank, sump and especially the pvc pipes so you don't have them again.
