Sump and refugium separate

I like the innovation, but it will eventually flood your house.

I flooded my basement 3 times with this method. Once my ATO malfunctioned and it wasn’t filling. My roommate heard the alarm and couldn’t figure out a U-siphon. Another time some debris from my fuge interrupted the flow. No idea what triggered the third time as someone was watching my tank when I was on vacation. Use with caution.

You could run one like mine, I'f you still wanted a separate fuge.I used a pump to feed my fuge and drilled it to let it gravity feed back to the sump. Here's some pics of when I was building it for example.
