I need to add 2inches to one of my baffles. It's a glass sump.

Any suggestions?

I'm considering getting a strip of glass and using silicone to hold it in place.

Also thought about a 6" strip and holding it with magnets over the current baffle but I'm thinking the sides might "leak".

Open to ideas?

I think adhering in place with silicone is best

I agree that silicone will work best. Although the magnets will surely hold a piece of glass in place, they can't seal it against leaks like the silicone would.

Cheers, the issue with the silicone approach is allowing it to dry for a couple of days. That would take my sump out of action. I could do a water change mid drying time and keep circulation going with my wave maker but it's not ideal.

I'm thinking on making a glass sleeve but won't be 100% water tight but should allow the water level to rise and improve my skimmer performance which is my ultimate goal.

I'm also thinking coral glue might seal those gaps if it's otherwise effective.

It's all cheaper than a new sump or new skimmer
