About a year ago I removed all filtration from my aquarium except carbon. I had a skimmer and roller and it led to undetectable nutrients and a bad Dino outbreak. Since then my nitrate is around 10 and phos is around .1 and things are growing ok. Now my sump is just extra rock. Just wondering if anybody keeps oddball critters down there? Thinking of maybe a saron and a unicorn shrimp

I used to keep chocolate chips starfish, decorator crabs and even conches down in my sump. The accumulation of mulm and sponges made for a perfect environment for any non reef safe invertebrate I had interest in keeping.
As long as they have enough space to move around they should do great down there in the murky abyss.
