I'm looking for a new design for my sump, the dimensions are roughly 29" L x 16" D x ? H (whatever you guys recommend). The return pump will be a Mag 7, the only other equipment will be a reef Octopus NW 110 skimmer. I'm hoping to shoot for simplicity with practicality. I would love to create a sump that has a chamber with an upflow current so that I can place some GFO/Carbon. I'm not interested in media reactors or a refugium, the less equipment that needs to be pluged into outlets the better! The return overflow is coming from a glass-holes 700gph overflow box, I believe the pvc is 1.5"'s thick. After I/we come up with the final design, a LFS will build it out of 3/8" glass. Please let me know if there are any other factors that I should keep in mind.
