Sump pumps

For those of you that are running skimmer reactor UV sterilizer Etc do you have separate pumps in your sump for all this stuff? Or one big pump with a manifold?

some people have several pumps for each piece of equipment, others oversize their pump to compensate for the flow restrictions likely caused by the equipment and additional plumbing.

one big pump with a manifold would be simpler to maintenance, than 2-3 pumps, with their added plumbing.

I run an external pump that supplies multiple outputs. My skimmer has its own pump. If I built my own skimmer I would probably add an output to supply it with water. Same for adding UV.

I'm a.fan of separate pumps. This way, if a pump goes down, multiple systems do not fail. When I finally launch my tank, I'll even have two return pumps. I do not trust equipment....

New tank has a manifold, but when I went this route I also changed filtration a great deal and am just running an ATS.

My skimmer, on the shelf, has its own pump.
