Sump question

Hi my name Brian , I have a brand new 90 gallon Aqueon reef ready that I’m setting up. I’m looking to get a bashsea smart series 36 x 15x16 and a bashsea bio reactor. I’m useing this tank to grow out my freshwater fish then I’m going to use it for salt water fish only . Can anyone give me pros and cons on this set up or anyone have other solutions , I don’t want a wet dry sump I already have one and I hate it

My 180g freshwater tank has a 75g tank under it which I converted into a sump, actually! It’s primary being use for equipment, mechanical filtration, and a large refugium full of Java moss!

A true chambered sump is by-far the most efficient, and user friendly filtration method I’ve personally experienced!

There’s no reason you can’t convert this system directly over to saltwater later, either!


Now the cons (compared to a wet/dry filters, canisters, or hang-on gear):

— steep learning curve

— relatively complex setup

— higher initial cost
