Sump water noise

What can i use to make the sump extremely quiet???

I know some who have used this to make it more silent. They've all glued it inside of the panels

My sump is silent and no need for foam. Is it water splashing? Pics of the sump?

what is creating the noise you are trying to eliminate? If it is your return pump, flexible tubing out will reduce some of the noise or a DC pump can be really quiet. Water from the downspout someone addressed above.

My drain line is sitting about 2 inches into the water and the gurgling of the water into the sump chamber is still pretty loud.

any way to reduce this?

I have a 90 gal with sicce syncra 3 running at full

I can possibly reduce the flow and turn down the sicce which helps a bit but does not make much of a difference?

Does the overflow have an emergency drain? Or do you have a flow valve on the drain pipe? My reefer 250was extremely loud and I had to dial in the flow valve which made it dead silent

I also have a gate valve going into my sump which helps me reduce the water going down allowing me to quiet it.

Putting my noisier pumps on silicone hot pads for vibration absorption helped a lot. If everything in the sump is already as quiet as possible and you still want to do more then:
1. eliminate openings as much as possible - but you should have ventilation! My stand is all sealed up but has a filtered vent at one end and a quiet fan at the other.
2. acoustic foam panels wherever they won't get in the way

No hinderances or contol valves.

Its hard plumbing going to a chamber before it flows over to another chamber

The pressure of water hitting the sump is causing bubbles to make a "blub blub" noise.

Last night i put on an elbow which reduced the noise about 30%

Still pretty loud, more bearable at this point but would like to quiet it down even more

Since it looks like pvc do you have a way to cut that pvc pipe and add a gate valve to it? This will help you control how “fast” the water rushes into sump and will make it quite a bit quieter!

is there a little hole on top of the elbow in the overflow? I can't tell and that is what controls the noise. if there is not, you need to redo it properly and this will help control the noise to minimum, if there is, here is a great thread that walks you through some tricks.

So one of the most effective ways to quiet a durso standpipe is...

So is my best option to drill a bigger hole on my durso standpipes. Right now the holes are smaller than an airline tubing. How large should I go. Any other options?

please do not put a gate valve on duroso overflow since there is probably no emergency drain. this is not how they work and you will flood your house
